In the
rainy and lush landscapes of northeaster Turkey the
Kaçkar mountain range borders the Black Sea coastline.
Extensive glacier and water erosion have given these
mountains a craggy and rugged look. On this tour we hike
through a timberland and through alpines meadows that
grass and wild flowers blanket up to elevations of 2300
m.
Itinerary: 15 days.
Day 1: Erzurum.
Days 2 & 3: Erzurum > Yusufeli.
Days 4 to 11: Mountains of Kaçkar.
Days 12 to 14: Sumela Monastery, Trabzon.
Day 15: Return.
Accommodation: Hotels and camps.
