Cappadocia & Bolkar
Trek |
|
With
its unique geological formations, Cappadocia is
incontestably one of the most remarkable natural
phenomena on this planet. During millions of years wind,
rain and frost, has eroded the tuff (volcanic rock) and
formed the most amazing patterns. By traversing this
landscape on foot you will appreciate the country’s
historical richness as well as its unusual landscape.
Second important massif of
the Taurus range, made of sedimentary material, such as
limestone and dolomites, Mt. Bolkar exhibits very
particular geological characteristics. Since centuries,
on its flanks, vast meadows and pastures are used as
summer homes by whole villages and flocksduring the
summer grazing periods. |
